Finish Thompson Inc. has been dedicated to the needs of customers for nearly 75 years. Since their founding in 1951, they have fostered a culture of foresight and adaptability to stay in touch with industry trends and growth.
Founded as a designer and builder of custom painting/finishing equipment, Finish Engineering Co. acquired Thompson Manufacturing, a local drum pump manufacturer. Ten years later, they launched Thompson Chemtrex and began to design and manufacture sealed centrifugal pumps.
The following year, in 1983, they pivoted Finish Engineering business to the design and manufacture of solvent distillation equipment. They launched their first mag drive centrifugal pump in 1989.
In 1990, Finish Engineering and Thompson Chemtrex were merged to form Finish Thompson Inc. (FTI).
Since that time, FTI have worked diligently and consistently to be the most trusted leader in the corrosive chemical transfer space. In 1996, thanks in part to the acquisition of Atlas Pumps, FTI began to manufacture stainless steel centrifugal pumps. In the 2000s, they released three separate mag-drive series, and in 2015 they introduced the air-operated double diaphragm (AODD) pump line: FTI Air. In 2023, FTI acquired Penguin Pumps, Inc., parent company of Filter Pump Industries, a southern California company that manufactures corrosion-resistant pumps, mixers, filter systems/chambers.
Today, they manufacture more than 20 different lines of pumps, as well as accessories, within the walls of an 80,000 square-foot facility in Erie, Pennsylvania. FTI are proud to serve distributors and customers on six continents, and support more than 40 different industries across the globe, and 4TAS Supply is proud to distribute their superior pump products.
